The property is located in the historic center on the Camino Materano. The room is spacious and warm. I would like to thank Leo, the owner, for his helpfulness and honesty.
Strategically located for exploring the town. The triple room isn't the most comfortable. The owners kindly made up for the shortcomings. Overall, good value for money.
A rather surreal experience, with a jealous and hypochondriac manager who treats guests as if they were clueless. I booked this property because it was listed as one of the affiliated hotels for a sporting event in the city of Gravina. The deal included breakfast and a late checkout so I could shower after the event. When we arrived at the property, we found ourselves surrounded by signs and notes demanding order and strict adherence to the rules, as if we were in an elementary school. The owner specified that breakfast was available from 7:30 a.m. This time was too close to the start of the match, so I asked to use the coffee machine only and would have made other arrangements for breakfast. This option was firmly denied, as no one was allowed to use a standard coffee machine, and especially no one was allowed to enter the breakfast room without the owner present. We ended up having to sleep on a bed with an incontinence pad to protect the mattress. In a previous review, the owner mentioned, "Hospitality has become very difficult." I agree, especially if you're a novice and lack any expertise.
MOLD, DIRT, LIES! There is a mold on the wall to the bathroom. Huge, like 30 by 50 cm. Right next to your pillow. Host was telling us that it is the damage from the previous guest, for what he is paying already (absolutely wild lie, i am an architect, i know how the consequence of one wrong insulation looks like) We have allergy for mold and we demanded another room. He told us to get out from his property and that there is nothing free, although in the system there was another room for that day. Then we wanted to sleep on separate beds, for that we booked a room with more then one bed, as there is always more, cheaper and better options with one bed, but the host told us that we are two and we have paid for one bed cover only 😂😂😂 and that additional will cost 10 euro. And then there is the rest. He is aggressive, rude in messages, threatening to complain to booking, air conditioning is not working, dirt on the floor. And the last thing - he will tell you to park outside of the center, as an apartment is in ZTL Zone, that is also a lie, we parked in front of the door. I think he just hates tourists. Or people all together. To absolutely avoid. 1 star is too much.
We had the pleasure of staying with Leo at the B&B Duca Orsini last week, and while I never leave reviews I felt compelled to leave one to say that Leo went above and beyond to make sure that our stay and trip went well. The accommodations were everything we needed, in a great central location, without overt luxury or the costs associated with that (the prices were very reasonable), the breakfast provided was delicious, and Leo and his wife truly went above and beyond to support our visit to this beautiful city, providing transportation support and recommendations as well as some unexpected thoughtfulness that really made us feel like family. Thank you Leo, it was such a pleasure to meet you!
