We recently had three great dishes: all their specials. My personal recommendation is this pasta with an octopus, was absolutely mouth watering. Moreover, people working there were absolute angels helping with anything you possibly need. Can recommend coming there as long as you have time in Monopoli. They also had pretty nice local wine served. Maybe a point for improvement would be having actual plates and cutleries, but nevertheless the quality of food was excellent!
I Agree with other travellers-very poor quality of pasta served. I ordered special pasta with shrimps and it was only pasta with just two prawns added. Overrated and overpriced compared to other places in Monopoli.
The worst restaurant where I eat so far in Italy. 😥 The price looks ok, but the pasta was dry and hard to chew. The service was friendly and the place was nice, but the food was disgusting.
This was our first meal here in Italy! The food was delicious and the owners treated us to a free dessert to welcome us. All around, we had a very wonderful experience. Thank you!
Coppino Monopoli – Orecchiette with a Taste of the Sea and Stories of Sunshine! Monopoli is the kind of place that stays in your heart – white, bright, with salty air and warm people. Here, among the narrow streets leading to the harbor, we discovered Coppino, a restaurant where Puglian cuisine shows its refinement without losing its authenticity. Coppino Monopoli – Orecchiette with a Taste of the Sea and Stories of Sunshine is about the place where Puglian cooking comes to life in its most authentic form – fresh pasta and flavors that transport you straight to the seaside, into a story about tradition, elegance, and dolce vita. The stars of the house – orecchiette with fresh tomatoes just like nonna Rosa used to make. At Coppino, orecchiette are more than just pasta – they’re a story in themselves. Made fresh from local durum wheat, they have that slightly firm texture and perfect shape to hold the sauces. You’ll find them in several versions, from orecchiette alle cime di rapa, a Puglian classic with slightly bitter notes and extra virgin olive oil, to orecchiette con sugo e basilico, simple, fragrant, and so delicious that you don’t need anything else. Each plate is a journey through local tradition – a balance between rustic and refined, between memories of grandma’s kitchen and the modern presentation of an elegant restaurant overlooking the Adriatic. We also tried a serving of Orecchiette with ricotta, lemon, and shrimp – a refined reinterpretation of Puglian tradition, where simplicity becomes art. The fresh pasta, delicate and slightly al dente, is coated in a silky ricotta sauce with subtle notes of lemon that bring freshness and harmony. The shrimp, tender and flavorful, perfectly complete the dish with a sweet-salty taste typical of the Adriatic Sea. Each bite is an explosion of light and flavor – a dance between creamy, citrusy, and marine, perfectly capturing the culinary spirit of southern Italy. For those who want to skip pasta or try another local specialty, Pulpìjett are the perfect alternative: small pork meatballs, true little gems of Puglian tradition. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy inside, each bite indulges the senses with the authentic taste of southern Italy. Carefully chosen spices and meticulous preparation turn these meatballs into a warm, rustic, and memorable culinary experience – just like the home-cooked meals shared with family in Puglia. Coppino strikes the perfect balance between sophistication and ease. The minimalist interior, with wood accents and warm lighting, creates an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere. The service is prompt and attentive, and every plate looks impeccable – a detail that says everything about the care given to the guest experience. Coppino Monopoli is more than just a restaurant – it’s a tribute to Puglian culinary tradition. From the freshly made orecchiette to the equally famous Pulpìjett, everything breathes passion and respect for authentic flavor. If you find yourself in Monopoli and want to taste the essence of southern Italy in a single dish, Coppino is the perfect place. It’s where every bite tells a story – of sunshine, sea, and a generous serving of dolce vita.
